The internal swimming pool and surrounding limestone surfaces had deteriorated over time due to constant exposure to moisture, chemicals, and general use. The limestone outer border required resurfacing to correct wear and unevenness, while the existing coping stones needed upgrading to improve both performance and appearance.
Inside the pool, the existing finishes required replacement, including the installation of new porcelain tiles and repairs to damaged mosaic wall tiles. The pool also required a full regrouting process to ensure long-term durability and water resistance.
Externally, the Portland stone patio had become discoloured due to dirt, algae, and environmental exposure, requiring specialist cleaning to restore its original appearance.
The Restoration Process
Limestone Border Diamond Recutting
The limestone stones forming the internal pool surround were diamond recut to remove surface wear and restore a smooth, level finish. This process improved both the visual appearance and structural consistency of the pool edge.
Installation of Porcelain Coping Stones
New porcelain coping stones were installed around the internal pool edge. These were fitted with a built-up edge and carefully colour matched to complement the surrounding limestone and overall design of the pool area.
