Details:
Full Facade cleaning of the front and side returns to this historical Grade 1 listed building. The birthplace of modern Penicillin. MGS had the honor of cleaning all the natural stone elements including some Terrazzo repairs.

Portland External Step

External stone cleaning and rendering - Private Residential , Clerkenwell, London
Details:
Our client had the new stone installed only one year previously but was suffering with issues relating to discolouring and picture framing on the main landing grout. On examination the grout was poor tile adhesive bleeding through from lack of sealing. MGS Diamond cut the surface bringing back the natural finish and sealed the stone twice for good measure. We also undertook some fresh rendering of the surrounding railing bases which were deteriorated.

Carrara Marble External Steps

Nursing home external Carrara marble stone cleaning, Maida Vale, London
Details:
Years of bleach had etched the surface and natural mineral iron deposits within the Carrara marble have caused yellow / brown discoloration on the surface. We diamond cut the surface and applied a specialist stone chemical for the reduction of the iron marks within the stone bringing back the original colour and finish. Two matching sets of steps also sealed with specialist stone sealer / protector.
Kensington Communal Planters

Details:
Communal area to luxury apartments in Kensington. MGS chemically washed all stone and buffed the surface to bring back the natural shine. We alo made several chip and crack repairs where required. Due to the difficulty of polishing and buffing black granite we introduced a new polishing procedure for this material with help from our excellent sundries suppliers.

External Front Steps

Project: External stone cleaning and new stone installation, Hollowway, London
Details:
This minor project turned out to become quite some work. We were initially contacted to replace slate nosings and replace some loose tiles. The original nosing was slate [very weak] and we chose black granite. We sourced matching porcelain square tiles.
On removal of the existing nosings and loose tiles we discovered that the original York Stone steps had been broken in several places and covered up. We informed the client who then had to arrange for a main contractor to rebuild the steps in concrete. We also then took the opportunity to change the steps to full black granite where possible as this was stronger and would last longer. We finally chemical washed and sealed all the stone.
Synagogue

Details:
We were asked to undertake the chemical cleaning and diamond polishing of the external limestone columns and the stone to the main front door facade under the portico. As you can clearly see by the photos it was a vast improvement to the original.
External Front steps Repair and Refinish

External Carrara front entrance steps, Richmond, Surrey
Details:
External steps were in great need of repair and restoration. Many of the steps and risers were loose or broken and the whole surface needed diamond polishing. We rebuilt part of the steps and reset all loose steps and risers. We diamond cut the whole surface and then, grouted, sealed and siliconed where required.

External Front Patio and Driveway

External front and rear patio in Indian sandstone, Holland Park, London
Details:
This beautiful home required a good clean down ready for summer. We used a commercial petrol hot washer combined with our scrubbing machine and specialist chemicals to bring back the stone to its original colour. We also spotted areas where car grease, rust and black spots had appeared.
